Bohemian National Hall, 3rd floor
321 E 73 St, Manhattan
The architects Lenka Kremenová and David Maštálka, partners of the Prague-based A1 Architects studio, will present their theory of architecture, examples of their work, and introduce their upcoming book Encyclopedia of Home. Their designs bring a tactile sensibility and Japanese-style approach to space and structure in contemporary Czech architecture.
Both studied with Professor Jindrich Smetana (A1 studio) at the VšUP Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Since their graduation in 2009, they developed their own approach to design. Inspired by the magic of seemingly insignificant details around us shaping the uniqueness of our life, they follow the motto: The secret of architecture is in its naturalness. www.A1architects.cz
