The talk will focus on Anti-communist exile in the first decade of the Cold War: its leaders, organizations and intellectual centers in the USA and Western Europe, including the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences (SVU) and its first president Vaclav Hlavaty, the world-renowned mathematician.
