The Embassy of the Czech Republic and SVU Visual Arts invite you to the opening of the exhibition Forgotten Corners with artist Iurro on April 4, 2017, at 6 pm. Forgotten Corners is about the places that we pass every day, but rarely stop and take time to look at them. These are, for example, alleys in downtown Washington, DC and New York City, small villages we pass through to larger towns and cities in the Czech Republic and elsewhere. Sometimes, these places can be quite prominent, but we tend to overlook them. Very often these places are not even interesting during the day. However, at night, they become romantic, even mysterious. In talking about the inspiration for this exhibition, Iurro said, “I was inspired to do this project for a while. I like walking around and stopping to look at these everyday places for most of my life. I painted several pieces using this theme before; however, this is my very first exhibition dedicated to these forgotten corners.” Location: Embassy of the Czech Republic RSVP by April 3 to https://forgottencorners. A reception with light refreshments follows the opening of the exhibition. About the Artist: |
